Hello, my name is Ellie Bielenda. I attend St. Francis College Preparatory High School in Wheaton, IL and I will graduate in 2024. I have finished my freshman, sophomore, and junior years with a weighted GPA of over 4.5. I have been taking honors and AP classes and I hope to continue until I graduate high school. I play soccer for both my high school and Galaxy SC GA in Naperville, IL.
I took my first touch on a soccer ball when I was 3. Since then, I fell in love with the game and I played a couple of years in the AYSO program and then begged my parents to sign me up to play club when I was 9. Since then, I’ve experienced playing most of the positions in soccer. I was nominated captain for my team in middle school which helped me to gain confidence in playing the game and it helped me to learn how to be a leader for my team.
From my junior year, I was not able to play since I suffered a stress fracture in my tibia. I was only able to play the first three games of the season and the first two games of our playoffs. On my time off, I realized how much soccer impacted my life and I feel more motivated than before to continue my soccer career in college.
Currently, I play the 7 or 11 (outside forward/midfield) and I can also play 8 or 10 (attacking mid). On the field, I’m a very instinctual player. I have a keen sense of spatial awareness and I can make quick decisions while in play whether I have the ball in my possession or not. I am patient with the ball and have good ball control. I have very good speed and endurance since I used to run track and cross country in middle school along with off season basketball while playing club all year. Being a multi-sport athlete in middle school has taught me at an early age how to manage time with school and sports.
I hope to continue to improve my game as an individual and team player while learning to be a well-rounded person and a good leader in college. I believe I can make a great fit to any team I may play on and a good friend to my future classmates and teammates.
