Personal Statement
Hi my name is Marissa Liberto. I just finished my Junior season at Plum High School in Pittsburgh PA. I played approximately 60 -70 minutes of every varsity game and started all 16 games including all 4 section playoff games. Ever since I was little I knew that I wanted to play soccer in college. Recently I have found running Track has also been a great complimentary sport to soccer. I am 5 feet 6 inches, I weigh 150 pounds, I have a 3.25 GPA and I give my all on everything. I play on a U19 Beadling Elite team, last year I was selected as 1 of the 2 teams captains. Whenever I step on the field I try to lead by example, by being an all around team player. I am not as big on personal statistics as much as I am on the overall team results. Being part of a successful program is what is most important to me. As far as school goes I am not glued to one particular region of the country; I can go anywhere! Personally I would prefer a medium size school, but if a smaller one seems to fit better it's not ruled out. Education is very important to me because I know I can't play soccer forever and will need to have a plan after my collegiate career comes to an end. As of now I am looking at forensic science or sports management as a career path. Most of all my goals as an athlete are to make the highest level of play I can, but also to make an impact on whatever team I am on. It is important to me for the team to feel like a family and if there is anything I can do to make this possible I will.
