Hi, My name is Catalina Gomez-Velez.
I am apart of the class of 2026 at St. George’s although I am originally fro Cumberland, Rhode Island. Although I started soccer at a late age, I aspire to play college soccer while being able to work towards an academic career. Just like many young athletes, I hope to play soccer at a professional level as well. I have attended many Goalkeeper specific trainings over the past 3 threes to be able to excel and vastly improve my skills. I've trained with New England Revolution, Elite Goalkeeper Academy, a week long summer camps that I have attended for the past two years, as well as an ODP camp, which resulted in me being one of the two 2007 East Region Goalkeepers. Overall, I'm a very outgoing person and try to make the best out of any situation. When it comes time to be serious, I try to lead my team and end every game with a positive outcome. I like to know that there is a feeling of accomplishment between my teammates, so I always make sure my teammates feel comfortable and confident on the field.I also attempt to keep my academics at a high standard, currently holding a 3.76 unweighted GPA with 4 honors courses bringing my weighted GPA to a 4.16.
