To know who I am as an athlete and student, you would need to understand the obstacles that I had went through to get to where I am today. I had struggled with a learning disability when I was very young, went through Early Intervention through the state of New Jersey and then moved into the IEP program within my school district. The schoolwork for me was extremely hard because I just could not comprehend the information. I had private tutors to help me twice a week and I still struggled each day. It was not until my parents fighting for 3 years within the school district to have me retained that my case study manager agreed and I was held back to repeat the 3rd grade. With me struggling with my studies at such a young age I do believe that the structure and discipline of playing soccer from the time I was 6 years old was a huge influence to help me along. By the time I was in 7th grade everything started to come together for me, I was making the honor roll and principal lists. Of course, as everyone knows COVID hit which all schools went fully remote and soccer had stopped temporary at the time. This meant that I had to work extra hard without the help of the IEP program that I was in and to practice on my own for soccer since we could not have any practices/games. I am now out of the IEP program and after looking at my grades right now I will hopefully end my Freshman year for the 2nd semester with a 3.8 GPA at Washington Township High School. I have come to truly understand that nothing comes easy in life and if you want to succeed, you must work hard. I moved to Tennessee in June 2023 and started my junior year at Dobyns Bennett high school. I joined the soccer team and was awarded a started position on Varsity. Half way through my junior year I was able to maintained my high GPA and was admitted into the National Honors Society.
