Gaby Dudic '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Gabrielle, most people call me Gaby. I have been swimming on and off my whole life. I officially joined the Barberton Pool Sharks swim team when I was 5 years old. To tell you the truth, I got a little bored of swimming, and wanted to try something new. So I switched to softball and gymnastics. I then had the desire and circled back around to swimming. During my absence from swimming, I found out that  I love, and am very passionate about the swimming sport. So to make a long story short, I took the break from swimming, when I was 10 years old, after 5 years with the Barberton Pool Sharks, as mentioned above.

Due to my recent desire to get back into swimming, and be a great swimmer, I recently became re-involved in swimming last year. Other than my educational studies, swimming occupies my mind most of the time.

Speaking of education, I would like to major in Nursing for my Bachelor’s degree studies.

Due to my passion to be the best person and swimmer that I can possibly be, I am currently seeing major improvements in my times. I know with proper training, and my desire to improve my times, I can be much, much better. I regret taking the break from swimming when I was younger, but I am glad now that I took the break, as the time off, led me to realize and know what I am most passionate about, competitive swimming. I am very coachable, love to learn, and love to put in hard work. I love how swimming is a challenge, especially after you compete in a hard challenging race.

The sense of accomplishment you feel after the race, is an amazing feeling. You just know that all the hard work, was worth it!

My goal is to continually improve my times, and to

compete at the collegiate level, and possibly beyond. I live by the quote “ nothing worth having comes easy or quickly”.
