I am a junior at Ottawa Hills High School. I am a versatile athlete and have made both the varsity swim team and varsity softball team since freshman year. I love competition and pushing myself to improve, and my biggest passion is swimming. I have been very fortunate to have awesome high school coaches who have helped me dramatically improve my performance. My favorite event is the 500 free, and during the 2022-2023 season, I improved my time by more than 1 minute. I have also contributed to my team in sprint events, including being a part of the 400 free relay team that made it to districts and currently holds our school record. I am very coachable and received the "Most Improved" award last season. I know that I will continue to improve throughout my junior and senior year. I want to continue my swimming career at the college level.
I love swimming, but I am also very focused on my academics and am planning to go to school to become a veterinarian after I graduate high school in 2025. I have taken many challenging classes including honors and AP courses, two languages, and I started college credit plus courses last summer. In my free time, I volunteer to provide animal care at a local high school and with a community that serves individuals with intellectual disabilities. I am very excited to take the next step and start planning for my athletic and academic future!
