Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Asia Quentin. I am a high school graduate looking to get back into swimming after a five month break. I swam for 15 years. I began my swimming career on summer leagues and began swimming for my first club team, First Colony Swim Team, in 2005.
While on summer league, I was oblivious to my athletic ability in comparison to everyone else. When I started club swimming, I realized that I was not the best I could be and so began my desire to excel. I pushed myself every day until soon I was one of the top performers in my group.
While on FCST, I experienced many achievements including, Junior National cuts, winning TAGS, Zones, and Senior Zones, breaking pool records and team records, and making National Top Ten.
I moved to Houston in the summer of 2013. As such, I switched to Eagle Swimming Association. I hope to continue my history of success and better myself not only athletically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
When I entered high school in 2011, I joined the Varsity Swim Team at Dulles High School. There, I earned MVP two years in a row, went to state in the 100 fly (2012) and the 100 back (2013), and received the Individual High Point Record.
Last year I swam on the varsity team at Summer Creek High School and broke pool and team records in the 100 fly, back, and breast, as well as relays. I also went to State in the 100 fly (2014).
In the future, I hope to get stronger mentally and physically, as well as get down to my fastest times again.
I am an all-A student. I plan on majoring in either biology, animal sciences, or zoology, minoring in Spanish, and going to veterinary school after attending a four-year college. It is my goal to become an exotic animal veterinarian.
Thank you for taking a look at my profile,
Asia Quentin
