Personal Statement
I started swimming competitively when I was 8 years old and from the moment I dove in for my first race, I knew swimming was the sport for me. I love competing in meets and striving to do my best; I feel disappointed if I don't beat my personal best in every race. But most importantly, I feel the most comfortable when I'm in the water and am excited about the possibility of swimming at the collegiate level.
I also love to travel. My father is in the military, so I have already had the opportunity to live in Florida, Virginia, Alaska, and Korea. Last year, I traveled to South Africa to do mission work. During this trip I talked to many people there and found out that most had never been in the water before. I cannot imagine my life without swimming so this made me realize how lucky I am.
