Hello!
My name is Kylie Gero and I am currently a Junior at James Clemens High school in Madison, Alabama. Ever since I was 3 years old, my love of sports has originated in playing soccer. In middle school, I wanted to try out for the girls soccer team, but to do so I needed to run a specific time in a 2 mile time trial. That summer, with the help of my Dad, I trained to cut my time down. I made the soccer team that year and I went on to be its captain the next year. The next year I also joined cross country. In wanting to make that soccer team, I found a love of running for the pure joy of it as well as running to better myself and to achieve a goal. I worked hard over that next summer as a dual athlete in both cross country and club soccer. I won the first cross country race I ran and gradually earned the spot as the #1 girl on the team. I continue to play soccer for my school, but I've fallen head over heels in love with running. Running has given me a family, something to work tirelessly for, and running has made me a better person. I hope to run for the rest of my life and it would be a dream come true to race at the collegiate level. I put my academics first and am looking for a school with high academic standards as I hope to study in the field of Medicine. I am a competitive and hard-working person, but I value the relationships in my life more than anything, and I believe I would be a strong addition to any team. I am looking forward to seeing what I can do in my next two years in high school and even more to making my dreams come true at the collegiate level.
