Personal Statement
I am a very dedicated and disciplined person, both on the field and off. I have a 3.85 GPA and take numerous Honors and AP level classes. I also really enjoy art, especially ceramics, and I am developing quite a portfolio. I am an excellent athlete, and have made the Varsity team in every sport in which I have participated in high school.
My sport career began with soccer in elementary school. That is where I actually developed my love of running fast! I just loved running up and down the field beating my opponents to get to the ball first. As Malibu does not have a local track club, I did not participate in track until my freshman year of high school. My freshman and sophomore years, I have primarily been focusing on sprints and high jump. However, every time I meet a coach, they suggest heptathlon. Therefore, this year I am trying to participate in as many different events as possible.
I come from a family of college athletes. My father attended Stanford on a full ride scholarship for Track and Field. He still holds the PAC12 Record for the High Jump. While at Stanford, he competed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. My mother was on the Southwest Texas State Water Ski Team. My brother is also swimming at Cal Lutheran University. Those, college sports is a way of life for me and I plan to run track in college, as there is nothing better than running and competing for your team.
