Hello, my name is Annie Streb. I went to Glenbrook South High School and graduated in May 2020. I competed in high jump and triple jump in Track & Field. I am a two time state qualifier for high jump and a one time state qualifier for 4x400 relay and triple jump. My personal records being 5’3’’ in high jump and 36’6’’ in triple jump. I am 5’9” and I have an overall gpa of 4.0. I had some severe family problems junior year, which led me to make a decision to put a pause on pursuing my athletic career at a college level. I have taken a gap year athletically, which has been extremely beneficial. This year has really put into perspective certain interests that I am determined to pursue. Mentally, I am the strongest I have ever been and motivated to strive athletically at a college level. My goals for this upcoming summer include matching my personal bests at 5’3” in high jump and 36’6” in triple jump. My goals for the outdoor 2022 Track & Field season include getting 5’5” in high jump and 37’0” in triple jump.
My attitude is very competitive, thus I can help motivate not just me, but my teammates as well to work hard. Furthermore, my coaches have always told me I am very coachable and open minded to their feedback to help me. Jumps are a passion and I truly love doing it. Whether I am on or off the field I bring enthusiasm and energy, in fact, my friends have nicknamed me the energizer bunny. I would like to say I am a well rounded person. To highlight in high school, I was a starter for the Glenbrook South Varsity Basketball Team Junior and Senior year, worked at a bagel shop for about a year then switched to working at GoodWill for about a year, participate in 2 clubs: Key club (volunteers and gives back) and Student2student (drug and alcohol free). In college, I see myself being very involved on the campus.
All in all, I would be a good fit to compete in your track and field program because of my athletic skills. I also contribute an excellent work ethic and involvement in school.
