Madison Perez '23 Recruiting Profile

  I am Madison R. Perez, a cross country and track mid to long distance athlete, from Lindenhurst IL. I’m part of my high school 4x800m team placing 2nd in State, placed 10th individually in 800m, and a part of the 4x400m relay that placed 9th (May 2022). In Cross Country, I placed as Illinois All-State in 21st place (Nov 2021) and in previous years was a part of the Lakes’ Girls team that placed 2nd (Nov 2019), 4th (Nov 2020), and 5th (Nov 2021) in State. 

Beside sports, I have devoted most of my free time to volunteer work. I regularly spend my time at Feed My Starving Children packing food, and helping my local Middle School run their cross country/track meets along with aiding the JV team at my high school in their meets. I regularly participate and educate at my local church (Immanuel Church, Gurnee), previously with fourth and fifth graders, and currently teaching with kindergarteners and first graders. At Lakes Community High School, I was chosen to be one of the Student Ambassadors to D117 and Board of Ed. I joined the National Honor Society my Sophomore year of high school and have been receiving High Honor Roll since my freshman year (2019). 

Overall, I am a hardworking, enthusiastic, and humbled person. I am looking for a team that values family-ties, team players who are willing to lift others up. After my journey in high school, I want to pursue Criminal Justice and Forensic Science academically and continue toward higher education.
