Personal Statement
Being a member of a team that strives for excellence both on the course and in the classroom is what I am looking for. I began running cross-country my 7th grade year in Middletown, Delaware. We moved to West Plains. Missouri during my 8th grade year, where I was able to continue running cross-country and track. I am currently and have been for the past 3 years a varsity member of West Plains High School cross-country and track teams and a varsity member of our high school swim team. During track season, I participate in the open 800, the mile and the 4x800 Relay team. Along with running and swimming, I am a member of our schools' Student Council, FCA, FCCLA and National Honors Society. In August 2016, I moved to Mokena, Illinois where I attend Lincoln-Way Central High School. I am currently a member of their cross-country team. I feel I am a well rounded and strong athlete. I have the ability and the drive to push myself during practice. I welcome feedback from my coaches and strive to meet their expectations. I have learned from a young age that you must set your expectations high and that you continue to work hard until those expectations are met. In Academics, I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I am able to manage both a high level of academic work with AP and Honors classes along with training for cross-country, track & field and swimming. I am looking for a collegiate team that will not only push me to be the best runner I can be but that will also push me to be the best student-athlete I can be.
