As a newer wrestler, I have not tapped into my full potential and I learn new moves and strengthen my game every time I practice or compete. I may not be a seasoned wrestler who has wrestled all their life, but I understand my role on a team and as an individual. As a teammate, my job is to be a contributor. When I am on the mat, my team is not who is going to do the work. It’s just me and the mat. I need my coaches and my strategy going in against any opponent. I’m a coachable wrestler who has stamina, drive and manners. I’m different because of my sportsmanship and my training. I have a jiu jitsu background prior to starting wrestling. It’s an important value of mine to still use formalities such as “Yes, Sir” and “No, Ma’am” and looking a person straight in the eyes as I shake hands with a person. I believe in deep respect for people and value hard core hard work.
