Sydney Norgren '23 Recruiting Profile

I believe I would make a great addition to your team. I am passionate about running and love working with others. As far as I can remember back, I have dreamed of running for a college team. Track has encouraged and inspired me to be my best. My coaches discussed moving me up to varsity in my 7^th grade year, but due to the weather conditions it threw off the season so they ended up moving me up my 8^th grade year. As you know life throws curve balls, but I am very optimistic. I have overcome many challenges including losing my 9^th grade season due to COVID. Losing that season, I was more determined and resilient than ever to come in strong my 10^th grade year and achieve big goals. Unfortunately, I ended up dealing with an unexpected heart condition, and an ankle injury throughout the season. Fortunately, I was able to work with my doctors so I could finish the season out and was still able to match my PR from 8^th grade. Immediately following the season, I underwent heart and ankle surgery and was able to take the summer to fully recover, train and be cleared for all activities. Dealing with these last two years of unforeseen circumstances it has only driven me to become more focused on achieving the goals I have set for myself. I feel strong, ambitious and I know that I have much more potential and am ready to work with others that are as determined as me. I would love to be a part of your team.
