Personal Statement
When I beat the fastest boy in my kindergarten class in a sprint at field day, running found a place in my heart. After I did a charity 5k in the third grade with my mom, running had me hooked. As I entered high school and began to run seriously, I have really valued the talent and gifts I have been given both on and off the course. I balance my homework, practices, and family time to my best ability, not because it is easy, but because I want to. I always want to better my athletic and academic performances as I go to a competitive college prep school with an amazing cross country team that I am proud to be a part of. Running in college would allow me to continue bettering myself in class and in my athletic performance, while still having a second family as my team.
