Personal Statement
My team and I are successful because we always work hard. I believe all athletes work hard to get results on the field, but I take it to the next level each and every day out on the field or track – and just as importantly in the classroom. There are days I come home from a difficult workout or competition and I just want to eat and relax, but I don't. I pull out my homework and usually study until midnight or later. I want to be a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner when I graduate from college. As I strive for to realize this professional goal I am never satisfied nor accept an average grade. Outside of the classroom is where I have the fun; cross country or track practice. If I am out of season I work out with a personal trainer where I lift weights, do speed training, and swim. In season, I am privileged to have great coaches who push me to my limits to make a strong, smart runner. Both on and off the field of competition I work diligently as a student and athlete to build my skills, contribute to my team and reflect upon how I can continue to improve.
