I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and my childhood was filled with all sorts of Alaskan things, from hiking and skiing to camping and hunting. Early on, I was a gymnast and also followed in my older sister's footsteps and began playing competitive club soccer since about the time I could walk! Soccer was my main focus for many years, and playing taught me so many things, including how essential teamwork is and how to work hard regardless of the outcome. Most importantly, I've learned that being coachable is one of the most crucial traits of an athlete, so I greatly value any input and apply it to my game to develop into the best player I can be.
I didn't discover my passion for volleyball until my 7th-grade year, when I began playing for my school's junior high team. I've had some incredible seasons over the past few years and have played for some great coaches who've helped me find my place as a libero/DS. A positive relationship between a coach and their players is very significant and is one of my highest priorities for my future team. However, my favorite aspect of volleyball is the team itself and how a group of different people can come together and work towards a common goal. I enjoy working hard with my team and always strive to be the best team player I can be.
As I begin my Senior year this fall, I want to continue to pursue my volleyball career through high school and work to find a college program that will be an excellent fit for me academically and athletically. I plan on working toward my goal of becoming an elementary school teacher and would love to become a part of a college team where I can bring my gifts and passions to help the team succeed.
