Personal Statement
My name is Delaney McKee and I am a junior at Bentley Upper School. I am a 6'2" pin hitter and middle blocker. Last club season, I played for Xceleration Volleyball Club 16-1s. In addition to playing club volleyball, I also played 4 ½ years of club soccer. I was a starter on varsity volleyball as a freshman and sophomore. This summer I did CrossFit 3 times a week, played in beach tournaments, attended Xceleration's 17s and 18s clinics, attended two college volleyball camps and began to work out/practice with my varsity team (of which I am the captain) . I was also a summer community reading buddy mentor for underprivileged preschoolers in Alameda County.
As well as being passionate about volleyball, I am very focused in my academics. Although I am not positive what I want to major in, I am interested in Political Sciences and Sociology. I believe I would be an asset to a collegiate team because of my focus and work ethic. As well as being a competitor, I am also a supportive teammate and well-rounded player. Because of my love for the sport of volleyball, I am willing to work extremely hard to be successful on the collegiate level and beyond. I always step onto the court ready to work hard, be challenged, and learn from my mistakes. I am continuing to improve and grow as a student-athlete every day and look forward to the experience of playing in college. It would be absolutely amazing to play professionally in Europe after college, and that is a goal I strive for.
