Personal Statement
Volleyball is the center of my life. My sister started playing when I was in fourth grade and everyday after school I was excited to practice with her and my dad. We didnt have a net at the time so we used our 7ft cyclone fence on the side of our house to rally back and forth. When we moved out to Sacramento my eighth grade year we used the T-post of our cloths line to practice jousting and blocking. I started playing competitively freshmen year at Pleasant Grove High School, honestly I was intimidated by the 6ft 5 girls and rotations I was supposed know but didnt. Everything in high school was confusing and stressful but through it all it was what I looked forward to everyday after school. Volleyball is how I learned committment, teamwork, and giving 100% in everything I do. I strive in school to be the best academically and athletically because thats what volleyball taught me and will forvever reinforce in my life. In school, AP and honors classes push me to be the best and in volleyball being a starter is what motivates me. However, personal improvement isn't the only thing that matters to me, growing with my teammates is one of most rewarding gifts i'm fortunate to have in my life. I will forever be grateful to volleyball and that is why I aspire to play at a collegiate level.
