Personal Statement

Hi my name is Alexandra Aponte and my plans for the future are to play College Volleyball and further my studies to. become a dermatologist. I am a girl who sets up her goals and dreams up high and is willing to work hard and never give up in order to reach and achieve them. I’m not just competitive or agressive when it comes to playing, but I also play with my heart and my mind to reach my highest potential in every single game. To me that is not the most important thing during a game. The most important thing is to motivate and support each and every one of your teammates to also achieve their highest potential. Surrounding them with positive vibes is what will bring us to a positive level, give us better communication, and help us win. Lastly, I’m a fighter not a quitter, and most important I’m a team player.

  • Notes: When I moved here from Puerto Rico in October, 2017 the school's volleyball season was almost over and I didn't know any clubs that I could play in. I spent 3 months without playing, but my desires were so big that I joined a group of a adults who played beach volleyball twice a week from 6-8pm. One of the parents there watched me play and invited me to his daughters club team. A week after I went there and try out and I made the 17's Gold travel team even though I was supposed to be playing 16's. It was a pleasure.

    • I've been part of the National Honors Society since 8th grade. I also received an achievemnet award every quarter last year for getting straight A's even though I started school in Florida at mid October when I moved here from Puerto Rico.

    • I moved to Florida because of the hurricane María in Puerto Rico. Since I had this horrific experience
  • Activity
    • I decided to volunteer at Christian Community Church and help them collect clothing for all those affected by it. I also work at Twins Gymnastics every Saturday after training. These activities have made me become a better and stronger person.
