Lola Buck-Taylor '24 Recruiting Profile

     Since the age of 8 after playing so many different sports that my parents introduced me, my goal has been to play volleyball for the BEST collegiate level team who wants and is willing to invest in me.  Whether a smaller or lesser-known school, getting an opportunity to play earlier who is aiming to be the best and topple some big team in the NCAA tournament, or a Major and waiting for my shot a little later, I'm not quite sure.  Volleyball will be a part of my life like school or hanging out with my friends.   In fact, it's a part of my entire family, too.  I can't imagine a time that I don't think about the ball hitting my arms for a perfect dig and pass or the feeling of excitement of wrapping up a match on the final point.  Either on an indoor court or on the sand, I want to play and then coach volleyball.

     My strengths are adapting and passing/digging on the move.  I am very aware of my position on court and I out of system bump set as good as anyone.  Although I have always been the youngest on teams I've played with, I can let go of mistakes, motivate and keep players from getting down.  I'm very coachable and generally likeable as a teammate and can't wait to find out who I get to play for next.  I take pride in not making the same mistake twice in any match and am quite bothered when I can't figure my oppositions attack or trick her into hitting the ball where I wanted her to.  I want to learn the game like a coach and guarantee by the time I am twenty I will be as good or better a defensewoman than anyone else playing.  I just need the right school, coach(s), and teammates to help lead the way.  I am what you need.  All that I need is a chance to show you.
