My name is Sophie Sorenson, I have a 3.5 GPA. I have been on the honor roll each semester. I have played many sports including basketball, softball, tennis and cross country, but have fallen in love with volleyball and lacrosse. I have been playing volleyball on a Sky High Club team for 8 years and the past 3 years took them to nationals. I played on the Stevenson High School Varsity team this year as a sophomore wearing #7 where my team just placed 3rd in the IL class 4A(highest division) state tournament. I play the six rotation outside hitter position and was second on the team in kills and digs and first in service aces. I have learned so many great skills through volleyball. Playing with older kids on my team has made me learn to be a leader and has given me a great deal of confidence in myself and my skills. Learning how to handle adversity and deal with group dynamics is definitely now one of my strengths. I am always learning from my teammates and coaches and that's what makes the challenges that come my way even more rewarding. My education is a very important aspect in my life and to find the right University to play volleyball at is a goal I take very seriously.
