Hi I'm Mia, thanks for taking the time to read my profile.
I was basically born in the gym because my mom is a volleyball coach and if I had it my way, I would probably never leave except to sleep (my 2nd favorite activity). I come from a very athletic and competitive home. Both my parents were division 1 athletes with my mom playing volleyball and my dad playing soccer. My mom is in her college Hall of Fame and my dad isn't, but he still claims he was good. My oldest sister just finished her college volleyball career as an outside hitter. She has never taken it easy on me and it used to be a little scary because she can pound. Since I've always played against my sister and her friends, I got used to how hard they hit and now that I can block and dig them, high school and club seem a lot easier.
Even though I am only 14, I just finished my 6th year of club volleyball. Since my mom is a coach I was always in the gym peppering with my mom when ever she had a break. When I was 8, the 12U coach asked if I could play and I haven't stopped since. It was fun being the youngest on the team and the only one that could jump serve at 12U. This past season I was on Club Fusion 14 Red (the top team out of 4). We had a great team and we finished the season with a 5th place finish at AAU's .
I'm excited to start high school in the fall at St. Charles North High School. They have a great volleyball program and I'm excited to compete for a spot. I'm a pretty good student and generally get A's and maybe a B or two. As a freshman I will have 4 honors classes.
