Personal Statement
I became interested in volleyball in seventh grade after watching my sister play for a few years and fall in love with the sport. From years of playing volleyball, I have learned that hard work and determination can go a long way. Also, I have learned that the game can be just as mental as it is physical. As I have played soccer for most of my life, I have struggled with maintaining my confidence in my abilities. Over the years, volleyball - along with soccer - has significantly strengthened my mental toughness, and I continue to work on improving it every day. This game has also taught me the importance of strong relationships with my teammates. I believe that one of the most important aspects of a team is how well the players work together, on and off the court.
As I finish my last years in high school, I plan to keep my grades, as they are something I am proud of. They have taught me that good results come from hard work. Looking into the future, I hope to find a college that will continue to push me academically and help me achieve my goal of becoming a teacher. My high school teachers have shown me that it is possible to make a difference in people's lives, and I can't wait to bring this value with me as I move into the next stage of my academic career!
