Personal Statement
I am Maddie Uhlir and I'm a multisport athlete. I am currently involved in High School Volleyball, Club Volleyball, Select Softball, and High School Tennis. I am also a 4.0 student. I love to compete! As an only child, I have been fortunate to be able to try almost every sport offered throughout my childhood (soccer, dance, gymnastics, ice skating, volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, golf, and baton). Each sport has helped shape me into the athlete I am today. Over the past few years I have had to make the difficult choice of what sports I wanted to dedicate my time to. After 8 years of playing soccer and 10 years of basketball, I decided it was time to hang up my cleats and basketball shoes to play more volleyball. I love the fast pace of the sport and the camaraderie with my teammates and coaches. My parents have always taught me to leave things better than I found them. I think that rings true when it comes to sports as well. My goal is to always be the hardest worker on the court/field and inspire my teammates to do the same. I try to bring fun and the feel of family to every team I play on and hope that in the end, that I have helped form something that was better than when I joined. I can be found most days putting in extra time to better my play. I am looking forward to committing all my time to volleyball in college, so I can reach my full potential.
