Layla Dameron '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since I was 9 years old and not only does the sport bring me happiness, it is my absolute passion. My goal is to play volleyball at a college where I can participate in the sport that I love while also either becoming a marine biologist/oceanographer or majoring in environmental studies and pursuing a path in that direction.  I am a great candidate for your team because I am first and foremost a team player.  I get along with all of my teammates and I cheer with them when we win and I am there to pick them up when we are going through a loss.  I know first hand that there is no I in the word team and that is absolutely true when it comes to the sport of volleyball.  One player cannot carry a game themselves, it takes the trust and bond of a team to know someone will be there to help you and have your back during a game.  I am a honest, loyal, level-headed, and respectable person who always gives 110% on the court as well as in the classroom.  I am an A/B student who puts just as much into her academics as I do volleyball.  In my day to day life when I am not in the classroom or on the court I am performing community service with my school or church, volunteering at my local aquarium, practicing piano, socializing with my friends, and participating in school clubs, sports, and other activities.  I think it is very important to be involved with your school in any way that you can because it makes you feel more connected to your peers and teachers.  Choose me for your team and I will bring a positive and hard working energy each day and represent my school with pride and tenacity.
