Personal Statement
I'm a 5'9" setter from West Islip, NY, class of 2018. I started playing volleyball at the age of 12 and it has been my passion ever since. I use to be a four sport athlete playing soccer, basketball, volleyball and lacrosse. Playing competitive sports has always been an important part of my life. Over the last several years I have realized that I wanted to completely devote myself to volleyball. I have been a member of my high school varsity team since my sophomore year. This season I was captain and starter, being the all round setter for our team. In addition the past three years I have played at the travel and national level for Rival Volleyball Club primarily playing setter and right side hitter.
I take great pride in the player I have become. I have been told that as an athlete I am very "coachable" and "respectful" . I am a hard worker and very open to any advice that will make me a better player. I take volleyball very seriously, as well as my academics, being well-rounded is something that I believe is very important. My teammates know me to be very reliable and smart and when the game's on the line, I never hesitate to assist in whatever way is needed.
Always looking to elevate my game, I have participated in summer camps at the University of Florida and Villanova.
One of my favorite things to do is to share my love for the game with younger children. Throughout my volleyball career I have volunteered my time to assist at volleyball clinics in my community. It is my goal to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level and continue to work hard to develop into a better player. I love the intensity, strategy and the challenge of a close game as well as the camaraderie and teamwork.
