Some people might say I started playing volleyball late, but the first year I tried out I made the varsity team. As soon as I stepped on the court I realized that was what I wanted not only my Highschool experience to be like, but my college experience as well. I quickly improved in the game, mastering what I now think of as basic, but truly fundamental things such as serving, passing, attacking and setting. As much as I love crushing the ball or making the perfect pass setting is definitely my favorite. Feeling in control on the court is the best feeling I get, and I consider myself lucky to get to play the position I love, and I truly aspire to be the best at. In my 3 short years of playing, volleyball truly has helped to shape me into who I am today. I’ve had some amazing coaches who truly helped change my way of thinking of the game, academics, and the real world. Volleyball has made me a more persistent, dedicated, passionate, and empathetic person. I push my self to new levels on the court, I don’t quit until the games over, I find love and joy in what I do, and I care for my teammates on and off the court. I want to continue to be able to be everything volleyball has taught me to be, and I want to do that at the collegiate level.
