2023 Highlights Personal Statement
I started wrestling when I was 7 years old and fell in love with it immediately. That is, after getting over the initial disappointment that it wasn't like the WWE as I imagined. My club wrestling coach gave me the nickname "Ice" a long time ago because I always stay calm no matter the situation.
Wrestling has taught me the rewards of commitment, hard work, and perseverance. I apply those lessons both on the mat and in the classroom. After finishing 2nd and 3rd in the state my first two years of high school, my goal now is to finish as a 2-time state champ. I also look forward to being a team leader and captain.
My goals for college are to continue to excel in the classroom and in wrestling. I want to be a collegiate All-American and then attend medical school to pursue my goal of being an orthopedic doctor or surgeon.
