I began playing baseball at the age of four. I fell in love with the sport the moment I started playing. Even from the beginning, I was never the biggest or the strongest. Before the start of my 14U baseball season, my pitching instructor decided to drop me down to side arm, because I did not have the best velo but had excellent accuracy and control. I was nervous at first because I did not know if I would lose my control or be as effective in a game. I worked extremely hard the entire fall of 2018 trying to create movement with the ball but still throw strikes. When February came around, my high school baseball coach decided to start me in the first game of the season. I was nervous but ready to compete and showcase my new pitching technique. I threw a complete game allowing 0 hits. After that moment I realized that pitching is my strength and I am willing to put in the work it takes to pitch in college. I was fortunate to be given this chance by my coach and pitching instructor, and it made me focus my efforts on becoming a better pitcher.
Over the years I have learned the value of teamwork, dedication, and leadership. I was raised in an extremely competitive family but was always taught how to act and what it means to have good character. As I am researching about colleges, I am looking for a school that will not only be a good fit athletically but also academically. I have always taken academics seriously and plan on pursing a degree in engineering. I not only believe that I have the skills and talent to compete at the collegiate level, but the character, attitude, and effort it takes to make an impact on a collegiate baseball team.
