Personal Statement

UPDATED: May 25, 2023.

Hi Coaches,

My name is Richie Burillo, class of 2023. I just graduated from Don Lugo High School in Chino, California. During the spring season of 2022-2023, I played on the varsity baseball team. My primary positions was third base and pitcher. As a pitcher I went 6-0 in league and 6-1overall. I helped my team become League Champions. I won the Cy Young Award as well as getting First Team All League Honors. This summer I will be playing on a collegiate team called (Bombers). I will also be attending Mt. SAC in the fall as a student athlete. My goal is to help Mt. SAC win many games. I also want to develop my game to become bigger, better, and stronger. Eventually transferring to a D1-D2 program.

I have a 3.7 GPA. I aim to study Criminal Justice and follow in my dad's footsteps in becoming a Police Officer.

My parents are my biggest fans. Ever since I can remember, they have talked to me about respecting others, working hard, being a team player, having a good work ethic, and, most of all, always staying positive and humble no matter what the situation is. I follow these traits on and off the field.

My favorite little league and travel ball coach instilled these quotes that I live by daily on and off the field, “Max Effort” and “Trust the Process.”

I have attached some links below, updated profiles, and videos.
