Personal Statement
As a pitcher and teammate, earning an international win in Japan stands out as the highlight of my baseball career to date. In the summer of 2015 I watched and learned from the Japanese culture that untiring dedication, kindness, cleanliness, respect, politeness and intelligence are all important factors that can help me be a successful student-athlete. I plan to use these approaches in every aspect of my game, on and off the field. In the past 2 seasons, I have also made large strides in my mental game of baseball. I put great value on the fact that both strength and composure are needed to survive the challenges of the game.
I desire to attend a reputable academic college, while also playing collegiate level baseball. I know this cannot be achieved without making some sacrifices. I am willing to put in the extra study hours to keep my academics at a high level. Often times I make the choice to practice on my baseball skills, rather than socialize with friends. I am a leader and always aware that people are watching me. Success is earned and I am eager to make a name for myself. If given the opportunity, I will work very hard for your team.
