William "Billy" DeMott '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Billy DeMott, I am  a sophmore at Timber Creek High School (Orlando, Florida) Class of 2027. As a freshman I had the opportunity to be a starter on the fall JV team and three weeks into the season I was called upon to Varsity, where I spent the rest of the fall season. Being given the opportunity as the only freshman to get called up and learn the system was exciting. I played my summer ball with SouthernSqueeze 15u.  I am looking forward to playing and getting the opportunity to continue my dream of playing in college, eventually I would like to make it to the MLB. More importantly, I believe my baseball talent will help me get a great education so there is something to fall back on if and when I am done with baseball.

Something that has helped me progress on and off the field is working hard and being coachable, this has really helped me understand the team dynamic. Doing my best to play for what makes the team better not just my personal stats and accomplishments. 

Being involved in school in the SGA (Student Government) and maintaining my 4.0 GPA while taking Ap and College courses is also a challenge and exciting. Being held accountable for my grades and who I am as a student not just an athlete is what drives me to be better on and off the field.

When I am not playing in a tournament on weekends, I serve in the children's ministry at my church (C3 church-Orlando) and when I am not practicing or playing I like to hang out with my friends and just relax. My family runs The Keri Anne DeMott Foundation (named after my sister who was killed by a drunk driver) I travel with my dad and work the community events and help spread our message and mission.

Im hoping that I can turn my passion and love of Baseball into an education and beyond.
