Personal Statement
I’ve loved the game of baseball for as long as I can remember. I started playing travel baseball when I was 8 years old and loved the high level of competition. What I love most is being a part of a team and working towards a common goal – compete as hard as you can and enjoy every moment. That’s how I approach every practice, classroom session and game.
As a player, I consider my versatility as my biggest asset. I play mostly outfield and middle infield, but I understand the nuances that comes along with each position. I take pride in being fundamentally sound and lead by example. One thing that I think sets me apart is my critical thinking and analysis. I understand that the game is more than just the numbers. It’s about knowing situations – what to do, when to do it, and understanding the “why” you do it.
As a student athlete, my desire is to play at the highest level of competition that I can. I’ve been an “every day” starter at every level of my career to date. I am confident that I can continue that path at the college level. But I’m also a student and academics are just as important as athletics. My intended major is engineering and I’m looking for a school that would set me on the right path both academically and athletically. The perfect scenario is a school with a strong engineering program, but with a well-rounded curriculum – as I understand that situations may change my academic path – and a baseball program that will continue my development as a player and a person. I would appreciate any opportunity to be successful in the classroom and on the baseball field and truly feel it would be an unbelievable experience.
Thank you for your time.
