Personal Statement

I started playing baseball when I was in pre-school and I can't remember a summer that was not spent on the field. I play travel and school baseball as well as QB on my school football team.  When I'm not in baseball season, I am hitting balls, working on my pitching and lifting weights.  In every sport I've played, coaches have relied on me to be a leader and my positions have reflected this.  When I played basketball, I ran point guard.  In football, I am the starting QB and in baseball the leading pitcher and a utility player.  All of these positions have commanded my ability to set the tone and pace of the game for my teammates.  What sets me apart from other athletes is my ability to play other sports competitively and my versatility in baseball.  My coach can plug me into any position and trust that if the ball comes my way, I'm going to make the play.  When I'm at bat, I'm going to get on base and I'm going to get my teammates home.  I constantly push myself to lift more, run faster, throw harder and hit further.  I am this way in everything I do.  Getting good grades is also important to me.  There are nights I get home late from a game and I make sure to get my homework done.  My goal is to get a good education and be able to compete with college level baseball players until I earn my degree.
