My collegiate goals and aspirations are to be able to be on a college baseball team and maybe one day even get drafted and come out and perform to the best of my ability's. What makes me a good candidate for your baseball team is that I am a multiple position player. My main positions are center field and pitcher. During my first 2 years of High School I played mostly Second Base but would sometimes play Shortstop as well.
I am also a very adept base runner and am a good defensive asset. I am not a very big power hitter but I am a good contact hitter. I'm not afraid to bunt and sacrifice myself to move my teammate 90 feet. I have been told by my coach that I am good at going opposite field and am able to place a ball all over the field. One of my stronger aspects is my glove for sure. I have good footwork and a good arm. I can throw the ball from center field all the way home without a hop.
What makes me stand out from other recruits in character is that I am a team player as well as a high energy teammate. I am very proud of what I have been able to accomplish by playing baseball and I am never satisfied with the way I perform because I know there are always areas I can improve on and it shows on the field with my emotions and when I am myself out there. I'm not the type of person to get mad at my coach if i'm not in the starting lineup because I know that my coach is going to put the best 9 out on the field and whoever starts over me deserves it. The best thing I could do is wait for my name to be called and when it is I am ready. Not to mention I know that being a back-up for someone might not necessarily be what I want in college for myself but I know that I am just as important as anybody on the field. Like I said above I play more than one position. I'm just a player that loves to play this game. Baseball is a kids game it's meant to be fun and competitive and it's just something I love to do.
Academically I average A's and B's. Every now and then I might need a little straightening up but it happens sometimes. But as soon as I get straightened up I get right back to it.
