Austin Chapin '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Austin Chapin, and I am 18 years old. My love for baseball started when I was so little I could just pick up a little baseball bat. My father introduced me to the game and got me playing as soon as I was able to.  As I've gotten older I have had him by my side working with me and sharing that passion for baseball. He has pushed me to do my best and to work hard on and off the field. He has shown me how to be a leader and give it my all no matter the situation in life.

After so many years of playing I have found what it is like to be on a team and work hard, but also to have fun. In high school, I have not stuck out from other players and haven't been starting. Being a shorter athlete I often get overlooked and not given opportunities. I am often told that I'm not tall enough before any of my physical abilities come into play. Despite that, I use that talk as motivation to keep pushing hard and to continue to work hard and be ready for my opportunity to shine and be an important factor to my team.

I am looking for a college where I can grow as both a student and an athlete. In my family academics is very important, so finding the right college to help me prepare for the future is very important. I hope to be a part of a team where we can grow as a family and push each other to get better. I want to be part of a team that likes to work hard, but also have fun. I know that my hard work and determination would help any roster to victory.
