Personal Statement
- I was a 4-year letterman and All Conference player at Kenston.
- Perfect ranked me in the top 1000 Nationally, 78th in Ohio and Number 7 LHP in Ohio my Senior year.
- PBR had me as the top available LHP in the state entering my Senior year.
- At UWM I was a Member of the National Honor Society with a 3.85 GPA my freshman year.
Why am I available: The perfect Covid-19 storm. In October 2019 I had elbow surgery. I can explain better but to not take a ton of time now. The growth plate in my left Ulna (elbow) never closed when I was developing. I pitched my entire youth and High school career on the at structural defect where essentially my bone was broken. They performed surgery to fuse the bone and it is now sound. The injury with its uncertainty in March / April if I’d be back fully, and the returning upper classmen and incoming freshmen due to Covid made me the odd man out at school.
Why wait so long: I waited until now to reach out to school because I wanted to be sure I was going to be able to perform for you. I lifted lower body and ran from a few weeks post-surgery, began throwing in February and pitched for a Summer team as well as worked out with my Pitching Coach.
I am ready to continue my Collegiate career and road to the MLB Draft. If you could use another team oriented, hardworking, ready to prove himself again LHP. I’d love the opportunity to explore if we are a fit for one another.
You can reach me at [email protected] , 216-630-0843 or @JasonVasil12. I’m happy to talk, text, video conference make a campus visit to work out for you. I believe I can be a difference maker for your program. While of course I’d love some scholarship, my concern is an opportunity for a starting spot in the rotation. My family and I can handle the education and living component.
