I am a big fan of college baseball and I want to continue to play baseball beyond high school. I also want to pursue becoming a dentist or a doctor. I know I have what it takes to do these because I am a dedicated hard worker. I demonstrate this both in the classroom and the baseball field. Academically, I stay focused on my studies to maintain my unweighted 4.0 GPA and steadily increase my weighted 4.195 GPA semester to semester as I take additional Advanced Placement classes; I also take challenging college-level classes in high school. On the field, I work very hard with my team to get better with every swing of the bat and every ground ball I take. Additionally, I hit 200-250 balls daily at home off the tee or pitching machine to constantly perfect my swing.
I am a very coachable player with a high-level baseball IQ. I use my knowledge to lead my team by example and encourage my teammates to make themselves better. My baseball knowledge helps me to prepare for every defensive situation, pitch by pitch. Every swing of the bat, I am coaching myself on what I did right or wrong so as to make an immediate correction. I have had several coaches and private instructors provide the same basic info over the last several years: "It is better that you know what you are doing right or wrong, so you can coach yourself to make the adjustment to correct it...High school players make adjustments game to game. College players make adjustments inning to inning. The pros make adjustments pitch to pitch."
I was once told by a private hitting instructor that your baseball career is like a pyramid. It is widest and easiest to play at the bottom when you start out in t-ball and work up through the young youth leagues. As you get into the 12-14U leagues the pyramid gets a little narrower as the difficulty to play increases especially if you play in the more competitive club leagues. It gets even more narrow once you start high school and year by year it gets even more difficult to play. I know I have the dedication, persistence and perseverance that it takes for the next level of play.
Some facts about myself are I enjoy spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends, being active and traveling.
