My name is Dylan Sereno and I have always had a strong passion for the game of baseball. I have played for over 10 years (since I was 7 years old) and hope to play for at least another 10. From clutch hits to sacrifice bunts, and diving plays at short to pick-offs, baseball is the greatest sport in the world. I work hard to be the best athlete I can be, bring focus and intensity to all practices and games, and strive to outwork everybody both on the field and in the classroom.
I am a solid starting middle infielder, but I can also play outfield. My strengths include hitting for average, ability to get on base, solid defense, hustle, above average speed, intensity, baseball IQ, quality at bats, and overall athleticism. I have played starting short-stop and second base since little league and into high school. I have also contributed often as a pitcher and have played the outfield when needed.
I am currently a student athlete at Potomac Senior High School in Dumfries, VA. This spring I was the starting short stop at Potomac High School before the 2020 season was cancelled due to Coivd-19. I also play in the Northern Virginia Premier Showcase League (PSL) for the Metropolitan Baseball Academy (MBA) Senators Travel team. Offensively, I generally bat top 3 in the lineup for both teams, and will hit for average, drive in runs, make clutch hits, get on base, and aggressively run the bases. Defensively, I’m quick and fast on my feet, have extremely quick hands, cover a lot of ground, have a strong arm, and can read the ball off the bat very well.
Academically I have continually improved my grades through high school. I have over a 3.7 GPA for my Junior year and a 3.0 GPA overall. Right now, I am interested in studying for a Business or Computer degree in College. I am very much a team-oriented player and consider myself very coachable. I think I would be a great addition to any college baseball program and would represent myself and the school well both academically and athletically.
