Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Coleman Hollabaugh, and I am in the graduating class of 2024 looking for a four-year college to play baseball at. Before I start talking about baseball, I would like to proudly say I am an honor roll student at a difficult Catholic high school located in Burien (Seattle), WA. I take academics seriously and think I would be a great student-athlete for your college. I am looking for a D1 college but am open to any college that takes a liking to me.
Now on to the baseball side of things, I am a left-handed hitter and a right-handed thrower. I am primarily an outfielder who also pitches. I have a great arm that allows me to throw people out at every base. My outfield velocity right now is at 87 MPH. I normally bat in the two through five spots in the lineup. I have led multiple seasons with RBI's and consistently have a batting average above 350 on all the teams I have played on. My trick to having a good average is not giving the pitcher a first pitch strike. I like taking advantage of pitchers who like throwing first pitch fastballs. I drive the ball from center-left to right field very well and have a 97.3 exit velocity which helps hard ground balls get through and the line drives to carry. I've always eventually been able to catch up with every pitcher I've faced. On the mound, I've topped 83 MPH in the Spring of 2021 at a Perfect Game event in Kansas City. At the GSL College Showcase in the summer of 2022 I consistently hit 85 MPH on the mound. I believe this number can go up dramatically and am training this fall and winter at Top Velocity in Bellevue, WA.
Character-wise, I'm an all-or-nothing type of guy who will strive to be the best I can as a student-athlete. Whenever I go to a new team I adapt quickly and become friends - and like family - with my teammates. Please call my coaches for a reference to get a better idea of my character and work ethic.
