My name is Reese Logsdon. I am a sophomore at Archbishop Murphy. I currently have a 3.95 GPA in school and staying strong academically is important to me. Growing up in Lynnwood, Washington, I played baseball, soccer and basketball. Although I enjoy all three, baseball is my favorite. Playing sports has taught me valuable life lessons such as keeping a good composure, having respect for others, and maintaining a strong work ethic. I've also found that as I get older, I really enjoy the collaboration and learning from both my teammates and coaches.
As a freshman on my high school varsity team, I started at shortstop and pitcher. I enjoy the competitiveness in both positions. As a shortstop I like the action and leadership the position requires. As a leader I do my best to support my teammates and let them know they can rely on me. Throughout the season there are times when teammates need to be lifted up, and part of my responsibility is to be there for them. As a pitcher, I enjoy the one on one competitiveness facing an opposing player. Both positions rely on strong teamwork and that element is something I really appreciate as the team bonds together. At the end of my freshman season I was honored (and surprised) to find out that I was voted the MVP of our team. That meant a lot to me because it came from my teammates and coaches. I am grateful that the team thought that highly of me. I also received Honorable Mentions from Wesco 3A for both my positions.
For my select team I was a pitcher and middle infielder. This experience increased my skillset at second base and continued to build my experience at shortstop and pitcher. I continued my focus with a variety of workouts and by the end of the summer I saw great improvements physically and mentally. Each experience is making me a stronger and more versatile player.
In the future, my goal is to play baseball at the college level while obtaining a good education. Today my interests includes aviation, biochemical engineering, and marine biology.
People who know me say that I am a dedicated person who has a good attitude, is coachable, and works really hard. I hope to continue to live up to those values.
