Emerald Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

CHEER: Cheer has  been a huge part of my life for the last 6+ years. I am currently on my varsity high school cheer team as a tumbler and a flyer. I have been on the varsity team all 3 years in addition to participating consecutively in allstar cheer at the same time.Cheer has and continues to be my life and my passion.

ACADEMICS: I really value my education. I demonstrate this through my grades by keeping a high GPA, staying on the honor roll, being a member of the honor society and partcipating in multiple programs at my school. 

COLLEGE GOALS: I want to major in neuroscience and psychology. Overall, my collegiate goals includes but are not limited to studying in my major, be on a college cheer team, and continuing to be a role model for all girls especially girls of color.

WHY ME? What makes me a good candidate for your team is my integrity, my values and my commitment to excellence. I value being a great teammate and human being. I like to give 110% no matter what it is and stay coachable, open minded and eager to learn at all times. Being a good role model on and off the mate/field is also important to me. I want to be that role model for girls of color to know that cheerleading is much more than being on a sideline. I want to show them that you can do it and it can be done. I want to let them know not to let people tell them that they can not cheer because of their look or something else but to keep pushing forward. 

Being a person of integrity, having strong values and striving for excellence has always been something my parents have influenced and instilled in me. I hope I have the opportunity to demonstrate who I am to the cheer world. Thank you for taking time to read this.
