Hey I'm Tristan,
If I were to have a conversation with my freshman self, I'm pretty sure he would be shocked that I am doing cheer. cheer became I sport I pursed farther into high school, but it was not a sport I was unfamiliar with. I had been training off and on with tumbling and gymnastic coaches for a good chunk of my life, with my main strength being tumbling, I got pointed in the direction of cheer by the tumbling community I was in. And from there this passion of cheer was born. I for the most part either back or main base, with some co-ed thrown in. I thus far have been pretty consistent with grades, and I have been keeping above average stats, and as of right now I have a weighted 3.6 GPA (roughly). I have always pushed myself academically. There has never been a year that I have not taken an Honors or AP class. And in my high school experience I lettered in Swim, Track, and Cross country, but nothing ever made me feel as excited as cheer did, I love every aspect of cheer, weather that is throwing a basket, or tumbling through the air. My goal is to get cheer scholarship, and then get a master's in psychology or criminal justice, and then finally go on to get my PHD. In the long run I hope to work with troubled youth, and teens struggling with home life and mental instability. I would say I'm a good candidate because I love to finish what I started, if a stunt is not hitting, or I can't get a tumbling pass down, I will keep pushing and persevering until whatever I am trying to achieve happens. The thought of failure doesn't scare me as much as the thought of quitting does.
