From my earliest memories, field hockey has been an integral part of my life, shaping my character and providing me with invaluable experiences.
My journey in field hockey began in first grade, during my time living in Buenos Aires. I vividly remember stepping onto the field for the first time, a small stick in hand, feeling an immediate connection to the sport. Over the years, I honed my skills and developed a deep love for the game while playing for the San Andres team until the end of sixth grade. Those early years instilled in me the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
Upon moving to San Francisco at the age of 12, I continued my field hockey journey by joining a club team, San Francisco Hawks, and representing my school on the field hockey team. Living in a new country, with all of the change that entailed, field hockey was a constant that helped me find friends and feel at home. Eventually as a high school freshman, I was able to play for a school team again. It was during my sophomore year that I was honored to receive the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, which further motivated me to continuously improve and excel in the sport I love. I took on the role of captain during my junior year, where I embraced the opportunity to lead and inspire my teammates. This experience taught me the importance of unity and determination in achieving our goals.
Field hockey has not only taught me valuable life lessons but also provided me with a strong sense of community and belonging. It has shown me that success is not only measured in wins but in the bonds formed with teammates, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the drive to push my limits.
I am excited about the prospect of continuing my field hockey journey at the collegiate level and contributing to the growth and success of a program. I am dedicated, hardworking, and committed to being a positive influence both on and off the field.
