My name is Finnley Desloge, and I am a Freshman at John Burroughs School. My dream is to play collegiate-level field hockey when I am older. It has always been a value of mine to put myself in a team environment no matter the circumstance, such as on the field, in the classroom, in clinics, and more. I have found that working together is exceptionally fundamental for everyone to succeed. An aspect that sets my game apart from other recruits is my creativity and my leadership on and off the field. I am not afraid of making mistakes and taking risks in the game of field hockey. It is important to try new elimination skills, new shots, or deceptive sweeps in practice to make the flow of my game more unpredictable and original. Leadership is a significant part of my game. Communication, cooperation, and confidence are the traits that build up a great leader. It is a necessity to be able to pick my team up, help out a teammate, bond with everyone in my group, and give or receive helpful feedback that will ensure growth as a player and as a team.
As previously stated, I am in 9th grade at JBS. John Burroughs School is known for its challenging courses/curriculum and is ranked #29th nationally among the best private schools.
