I started field hockey in 2015 because the varsity coach reached out to my mom to see if I would be interested in trying out for the varsity goalie position. She had heard a lot about my softball catcher ability and awards. I had never played field hockey before and I was rather apprehensive, especially playing for the starting varsity position, but I figured it would give me good practice during the off season from softball. I worked very hard in the position becAuse I didn't want to make a fool of myself or my team. I have earned numerous write ups in the local newspaper and in nj.com for my ability as a goal keeper. I'm currently one of the varsity captains.
My mom always taught me that you try your hardest and you never give up. I follow this advice in school and in life as well. I work very hard for my grades and I believe that helps me to appreciate it more when I do well. I know the meaning of hard work in academics, sports and life. I think these are some of the most valuable things to learn in life.
My aspiration for college is to be in the biology field. I'm most interested in marine biology and medical biology. I became very interested in biology after my sophomore year. I'm currently in AP biology and honors genetics as well as honors calculus.
