Justin Stern '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a smaller type player at about 5 foot 10.5 inches tall and about 210 pounds, I play fast and I read plays very well, as a Junio & Senior year I was named a 1st team All Region Linebacker for my region in 5A. My  4 years of varsity experience have led to my success in this sport. I make good grades in school, I am currently taking almost all advanced/gifted classes, in-which I make all A's and B's my GPA ranges from 3.5 to a 3.7. Many of my teammates look up to me, I am a team captain, last year as a Junior I recieved a Coach's award named the "Follow Me" Award; it is an award given to player that shows the most leadership qualities, it is voted on by all of the coaches. I work hard to learn all my plays, I play both sides of the ball, offense and defense, I also play special teams so I had to split time in practice to both sides and in my free time I spent time learning all my plays. One of my dreams would be to play in college football and get a good college education so that I can have future success in life.  Right now I'm open to any/all college evaluations, I would like to get into the best possible college for me. The major I am interested in is in the engineering field I want to be a Software Engineer. My athletic goals for playing in college would be to play an important role in my team. I am a hard worker, and I stay on top of my teammates and make sure they are doing their work and playing to their best abilities. I have leadership/captain aspects of my personality, I usually take leads in school projects, but I am not self-absorbed, as in thinking I do not think I deserve credit for everything I like to distribute credit where it is needed. In our 3-4 defense, I have played all four of our linebacker positions, I was able to keep the outside contained while my speed allowed me to chase down the play on the other side of the field. I make all of the changes and reloads to the initial calls we have, I am very good at recognizing formations from scouting reports, I am good at learning signals for plays too. I am open and able to take criticism from coaches, and anyone else that is willing to give me any coaching or help I need.
