Personal Statement
My name is Max Shreve I am a 6'3" 240 lb DE/Nose Guard. I am from Bentonville High School, a 7A, 5 time state championship program in Arkansas. I have been playing football since I was in kindergarten and aspiring to become a collegiate athlete since my sophomore year. My work ethic and vision for winning have transformed me from being a 4th string backup as a freshman, to a starter on JV as a sophomore, to where I am now (a junior) as one of the five "1's" on coach Tony Cherico's starting defensive lineup. Coach Cherico describes me as an aggressive pass rusher and one of the most physical players he has coached. Coach Grant, our head coach, describes me as being extremely physical and hard working. Leading into the season, our group of defensive linemen were rated #1 in the state for all programs. Through playing football for the Tigers I have learned that being part of a program is being a part of something bigger than yourself. I have learned that all of the actions I take reflect on the program and they should be in the best interest of the program. At Bentonville our core covenants are Discipline, Toughness and Family. I have learned that being part of a program is being part of a brotherhood; when you're on the field, you're fighting for your brothers. I would like to find a school that has similar covenants with players that operate as a family unit both on and off the field. I believe that my work ethic, discipline, and physical play style would benefit any program looking for a defensive linemen.
